London Posse (@Rodney_P) – ‘Money Mad’ [1988]

Old Skool Feature of The day for Saturday, December 27,  is a London Posse  track  ‘Money Mad .

Released in 1988 on Tim Westwood‘s Justice label, ‘Money Mad’ was an instant UK Hip-Hop anthem,  laced with south London, street- lingo,   Rodney P & Bionic are credited with establishing Brithop‘s identity, being the first to rap in an overtly London-accent.

Following Tim Westwood closing down the Justice label,  the south London rap-duo moved to Island records subsidiary,  Mango where they release their  debut album ‘Gangster Chronicle’,  released in 1990, featuring a remixed version of ‘Money Mad’ .   Both the single ‘Money Mad’, and the album ‘Gangster Chronicle’ are cemented in history and considered classic by most UK Rap – aficionados.
