Old Skool Feature of The day for Saturday, December 27, is a London Posse track ‘Money Mad‘ .
Released in 1988 on Tim Westwood‘s Justice label, ‘Money Mad’ was an instant UK Hip-Hop anthem, laced with south London, street- lingo, Rodney P & Bionic are credited with establishing Brithop‘s identity, being the first to rap in an overtly London-accent.
Following Tim Westwood closing down the Justice label, the south London rap-duo moved to Island records subsidiary, Mango where they release their debut album ‘Gangster Chronicle’, released in 1990, featuring a remixed version of ‘Money Mad’ . Both the single ‘Money Mad’, and the album ‘Gangster Chronicle’ are cemented in history and considered classic by most UK Rap – aficionados.
