Ghetts ( @JClarke_Ghetts) – ‘Rebel With A Cause’ #RWAC enters the UK Album chart at No. #23

Grime MC Ghetts ‘Rebel With A Cause’ #RWAC enters the UK album chart at number No. #23. After months of promotion which included the release of the #RWAC mobile app, performing at I luv live,  a steady and thorough social media campaign, a special listening and Q& A session chaired by Radio One DJ Charlie Sloth, and secret pop-up gig at the Barbican the hard work paid off with a top 40 album.

The announcement to the public came in the form of a Instagram picture of a tweet from the Official Chart Company, confirming the album’s chart entry position. Accompanied with Instagram post were some heart-felt words from the east London MC.

The excitement and anticipation for ‘Rebel With A Cause’ #RWAC, had been steadily building up, leading to its release at 12:00 am March 9.  Approximately an hour after the album went on sale at midnight (1:00AM), Twitter was buzzing when fellow Movement member, Wretch 32, announced that ‘Rebel With A Cause’ #RWAC had hit number #No 12 on iTunes UK album chart.

 

At the speed at which it had got to this position, it was safe to assume that the album would climb further up the chart,  and about hour after Wretch 32’s tweet,  ‘Rebel With A Cause’ #RWAC had peaked at #No.3 on the iTunes UK album chart.
