The MOBO Awards 2021 took place tonight at Coventry Building Society Arena and was presented by Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix and comedian Munya Chawawa with assistance from comedian Eddie Kadi amongst the audience.
Returning as live show while also being broadcast via YouTube the ceremony brought together personalities from the world of film, sport, radio, an TV such as the likes of; comedian/presnter Mo Gilligan, sports presenter Alex Scott, presenter ZeZe Millz, Harry Pinero, Michael Dapaah, Heartless Crew, Tiffany Calver, Jamelia and more who presented awards.
Gracing the stage with electric performances at 25th anniversary of the MOBO Awards were; Bree Runway NSG, Ghetts, Pa Salieu & Backroad Gee, Stefflon Don and Ms Banks, Potter Payper, Tems, and Enny.
History was made with the introduction of the first ever award for drill, which has taken over the UK by storm garnering the genres first No. #1 single in Tion Wayne and Russ Millions‘ viral hit ‘Body’.
The big winners on the night were Central Cee who picked-up two awards for “Best Drill Act” And “Best Newcomer” and Nigerian supestar Wizkid who Picked Up “Best International Act” and “Best African Music Act”. Other notable winners were Dave who picked up the prestigious “Album Of The Year” award, and Tion Wayne and Russ Millions’ bagging the “Somg Of The Year” award for Body Remix.
