The annual BET Hip-Hop Awards took place yesterday evening (October 27) in which the UK’s leading MC, Stormzy was triumphant beating off competition from fellow UK rapper Ms Banks along with: Djonga (Brazil), Kaaris (France), Khaligraph Jones (Kenya) Meryl (France) and Nasty C (South Africa) to bag his first BET Hip-Hop Award for ‘Best International Flow’.

The Croydon star has an impressive record at The BET Awards. being nominated 4 years consecutively since 2015 for Best International Act, picking up the trophy in his first year of nomination in 2015, and then 2017.

Stormzy is constantly breaking new ground and now makes history a the first UK MC to win a BET Hip-Hop Award which he can did to his rapidly increasing list of accolades.

Other notable winners on the night were Mega Thee Stallion who scooped three awards; Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration and Hustler of the Year. Roddy Ricch aslo won big picking up awards for ‘Song Of the Year’ and ‘Album of The Year’ with the likes Travis Scott, Future, Rapsody and more picking up awards.

Due current global pandemic with Covid 19 the award had to take place with
virtually which included performances from such luminaries of Burna Boy, Big Sean, and Lil Baby and more.

The complete award show will air in the UK on Saturday (October 31) on BET at 9pm.
