Whipping Up A Storm: Grime MC Stormzy (@Stormzy1) Cleans Up At GQ And AIM Awards
Award season is well and truly under way. Last night south London grime MC, Stormzy traded in his Adidas tracksuit for a designer suit to attend two award shows taking place on same night, The GQ Men Of The Year Awards, and the AIM Awards, which Mr Skeng was nominated for awards in multiple categories at both awards shows.
Stormzy and his right-hand-man Flipz dressed in a Burberry suits looking smooth, and did a little stunting for the social media, posting a video online before heading out for the evening.

First stop for the night was the The GQ Men Of The Year Awards where Stormzy won two awards, GQ’s ‘Man Of The Year’, and ‘Solo Artist Of the Year’, the later being presented to him by none other than Labour Party Leader, Jeremy Corbyn.
In his acceptance speech Stormzy praised Jeremy Corbyn, and and labeled Prime minister, Theresa May a “Paigon”, which many of the mainstream media outlets misquoted as “Pig”, or “Pagan, not understanding the meaning of the word in UK street culture.
Tweeting from his official account Jeremy Corbyn said:“Tonight, I was honoured to present @Stormzy1 with the @BritishGQ Solo Artist Of The Year award.”

Having to squeeze in two events on one the night, Stormzy rushed off to The Aim Awards where he was nominated for another two awards. With time being of the essence the wicked Skengman had to jump on the back of a motorcycle to make it top his destination on time.

It was no surprise to find out that the Wicked Skengman had cleaned up for a second time, being the biggest winner at the AIM Awards 2017. He took the ‘Album of the Year’ gong for his chart-topping debut ‘Gang Signs and Prayer’, plus the PPL Award For Most Played New
Having a more calm, and serious vibe to his acceptance speech at AIM Awards, than he did at the GQ Awards, Stormzy said: “I put my heart and soul into this album” while taking the time to thank all involved in his project with a special shout out to Mr Fraser T Smith who manged the production process of the album.
Once again another great night for artist who just keeps going strength- to –strength. Congratulations Stormzy
