Major Moves: Grime/ Rap Collective Vibbar Sign Deal With Sony Music
Alternative Grime and UK rap collective Vibbar have bagged themselves a record deal with Sony Music.
Making the announcement about their next step in their career via social media, Poet posted a picture of the group in the Sony boardroom. Showing appreciation for the fans that help get them to this point, Poet said:
“So we signed our first major label deal with Sony.
@vibbar Seriously thank you everyone for your support.
I CANT LIE IM GAAAAAAASSSSSEEEEEDDD YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!!”
Vibbar have been steadily carving out a niche for themselves with a series of Nordic-themed tracks and videos, which marry the old with the new, incorporating classic UK tracks of the past, showing their musical depth.
Details of the deal aren’t available at this time, but hopefully it will be a great opportunity to get resources behind the collectives creative ideas, which they’ve displayed in their visuals so far. Vibbar will now join the ranks with both Yungen, and Sneakbo who are artist on the Sony Roster.
To coincide with their new deal, Vibbar have decided to treat their fans with a new track, ‘Deadweight’ which features Skribz and Skits and is produced by in-house beatmaker Confect.
Congratulations Vibbar!
