Nines has been bubbling on the UK Hip-Hop scene for a number of years, bringing his gritty street-narratives with glossy high-quality videos that have racked up millions of views. Managed for a short while by SBTV founder, Jamal Edwards, it appeared that the Ice-City representative was going to make the transition from hood’s favourite, to an artist breaking through to the mainstream.
Following a number of his shows been cancelled by the police, it was feared by some that Nines would return to the streets. Staying resolute, he kept his momentum going off the back on of his ‘One Foot In’ mixtape, releasing the video for ‘Trapper Of Year’, easily one of the best UK Hip-Hop videos to drop in 2016.
Nines follows in the foot steps of Giggs, Wiley, Dizzee Rascal who have all signed to XL Recordings in the past, and is now label mates with arguably one of the biggest artist of this era in Adele.
We look forward to seeing what this new move will produce in 2017.
Congratulations Nines
