AJ Tracey (@AJFromTheLane) Discusses Grime, Misperceptions about London

To help you navigate the expansive world that grime has become, one of the young gunners in the scene AJ Tracey sat down with us while he was in the states for a short informative lecture. Similar to how hip hop is broken down into a culture and not just the music, grime is a lifestyle that includes tracksuits, energy cycles similar to dancehall, and more. AJ also explains the differences in grime among the four regions of London.

Oh, and he recounts a news story where a kid stabbed a police officer in the head and jumped into a McDonald’s to continue his violent spree shortly after. West London isn’t what you think it is…
