2016 is gearing up to be one the best years for Grime and UK Rap with Kano already dropping, ‘Made In The Manor’ his best album since ‘Home Sweet Home’, Frisco -‘System Killer’, Skepta- ‘Konnichiwa’, and Wiley, Wretch 32, Lady Leshurr, and Stormzy all due to drop albums this year.
Well, there’s another name to add to that list, and that name is Giggs. The south London rapper changed the game in the mid to late noughties with his gritty-street narratives over hard beats, popularising ‘Road Rap’, which would evolve some what into its own genre ‘UK Rap’ separate from the traditional UK Hip-Hop Scene.
Since the release of his last album, Giggs has been busy killing the guest features, h dropped the ‘Str8 Murkin’ mixtape, his single ‘Who’s Dat’, as well as the Sn1 project, ‘Sn1 Folder’. His fans have been eagerly anticipating an album, but Giggs expressed in a interview that he just wanted to keep recording , and wasn’t keen on committing to delivering a full body work as an album.
However, there were little videos and pictures that had been popping up on social media which gave us reason to believe that Hollowman was working on something.
We can now confirm that the prince of Peckham has had a change of heart, with so many of his peers releasing albums, and with the scene being in a good place at the moment, he probably realised that now would be the right time to mark his official return.
We can reveal that Giggs fourth studio album is 14-tracks long and features collaborations with Donaeo, Youngs Teflon, Dubz, CasisDEAD, Gunna Dee, Rico Love, and Stormzy.
Giggs – ‘Land Lord’ will be released August 5.
Watch this space, we will keep you updated on new information regarding ‘Land Lord’ as it is made available.
