East London Grime veteran, Kano has great cause for celebration as his new album, ‘Made In the Manor’, smashes into the top 10 on the UK Official Albums Chart, entering at No. #8.
The album was three years in the making, following the release of his fourth album, ‘Method To The Maadness’, a collaboration EP with producer Mikey J -‘Not For The A List’, his ‘Jack Bauers’ mixtape series, and filming series one and two of Channel 4’s gritty hit TV Drama ‘Top Boy’.
The release of ‘Made In The Manor’ comes at the right time as Grime has been experiencing a resurgence over the last three years, but still remains a genre lacking big album releases. Kano fills that void and returns to form on ‘Made In The Manor’ earning himself his first top 10 album in eleven years, following criticism that his albums since his debut, ‘Home Sweet Home’, have mostly been wide of the mark.
The fifteen-tracker details Kano‘s come-up in east London, with deep introspective lyrics and over crisp Grime, Hip-Hop, and alternative production, from likes of Blue May, Rustie, Fraiser T Smith, Mikey J, SwifterBeater, and Mele, and features collaborations with, Giggs, Wiley, JME, Damon Albarn.
Kano will embark on his ‘Made In The Manor’ UK tour starting from Wednesday, March 16, in Brighton. Tickets available from Kano’s website here
