Ghetts, Wiley, & JME, High Focus Records, & Young Fathers represent Grime & UK Hip-Hop at AIM Independent Music Awards 2015
Last week AIM announced the nominations for their fifth annual Independent Music Awards taking place in September. Grime‘s current leading figure, Skepta is to be honoured with the ‘Oustanding Contribution To Music ‘Award, but there are also other artist from the world of Grime and UK Hip-Hop who are nominated for awards.
High Focus Records, home to UK Hip-Hop artist such as Fliptrix, Verb-T, Ocean Wisdom and the collective The Four Owls are nominated In the ‘Best Small Label’ category. Scottish Alternative Hip-Hop band, Young Fathers are nominated in two categories; ‘Difficult Second album’ and ‘Hardest Working Band Or Artist’.
Boy Better Know CEO, JME is also nominated for awards in two categories, ‘Hardest Working Band Or Artist’,and ‘Best Independent Album’. Last year’s winner of the ‘Hardest Working Band Or Artist’ award, Ghetts is nominated again, but this time in the ‘Most Played new Independent’ category.
