Skepta To Receive ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’ Award at AIM Independent Music Awards
Boy Better Know DJ, Producer, MC, Skepta has had a great 2015 so far, and it’s going to get even better. It has just been announced that he will be honoured with the ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’ prize at this years AIM Independent Music Awards.
The 32-year-old from Tottenham has been at the forefront of the Grime scene, Britian’s most important cultural movement since Punk Rock. Following the success of his 2014 breakthrough single, ‘That’s Not Me’, Skepta has brought Grime to the US, recently completing a mini-tour, appeared on stage at BRIT Awards earlier this year with hip-hop megastar Kanye West, performed his latest big single, ‘Shutdown’ on Live with Jools Holland, and collaborated with the likes of Flatbush Zombies, A$AP Mobb, Whizz Kid, and Drake.
The fifth annual AIM Independent Music Awards will take place on September 8 at The Brewery in Clerkenwell, London, and will be reprsenting the best of British independent music. See a full list of nominees for this years awards here.
