Choong Family – ‘Fall Back ‘ [2005]
Old Skool Feature of the day for Thursday, July 16, 2015 is Choong Family’s track ‘Fallback’. Choong family were a UK Hip-Hop group mostly from East London that consisted of Afix and Nutz P, and Singers Scandal and HT
‘Fall Back‘ was never officially released as a single, but was sent out on a official promo which included Choong Family‘s most well-received track, ‘Memory Lane’ which was release on Eastside records/GridLockaz in 2005, and featured on the ‘Higher Elevation’ album, released in the same year.
Choong Family were UK Hip-Hop group from the early to mid-2000’s that brought street-oriented music, with a diverse sound, and commercial appeal, combining rappers and singers, and laying a foundation of what modern UK Rap position itself. They came to prominence in the Channel U era where the UK Rap was trying find it’s place amongst the high-energy quintessentially British sounds of Grime. If they came out in the current era there’s no doubt that they would’ve be able to make a greater impact, and possibly go on to achieve great things
