South London rap-duo, Krept & Konan have been making some real big moves recently. Appearing on last weeks episode of Not For The Radio for an in-depth interview, the pair revealed that they were going to be signed to Def Jam in America (watch here).
At 6:51 today (June 22) Def Jam confirmed that they have indeed signed the Croydon boys to the iconic Hip-Hop label.
Both Krept and Konan took to their respective Twitter accounts to comment on their signing. Krept tweeted a picture a with a list of US stars signed to Defjam which included them. They now share a musical home with artist such as; Fabolous, Kanye West, Jadakiss, Jeremih, Big Sean, Jeezy, and fellow British artist Leona Lewis.
At one point there was talk of whether they would join Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs’ Bad Boy label, trigger by a picture the pair took outside the record label building while they were visiting Revolt TV. The trip to the big apple was to primarily to film parts of the video for their ‘Don’t Waste My Time Remix’ which featured French Montana, the late Chinx.
This announcement comes a week ahead of the release of their single ‘Freak Of Week Ft Jeremih’, for which there is remix that features Dancehall artists Beenieman, and Popcaan, and two weeks ahead of the release of their album, ‘The Long Way Home’.
This revelation will no doubt add the the excitement leading up to the release of possibly the most important UK Hip-Hop album to released in 2015.
Congratulations Krept And Konan.
