Stormzy (@Stormzy1) – ‘Shut Up’ Hits One Million YouTube Views
Following being nominated for this years BET Awards taking place in later this month in the US, South London MC, Stormzy has another cause for celebration as the video for his freestyle, ‘Shut Up’ breaks through the one million views mark on the YouTube, and at the time of writing this article, had reached 1,150, 837 views.
Stormzy’s ‘Shut’ freestyle came after months of being quiet regarding the criticism he and others received for being part of Kanye West’s Stage performance at The BRITS 2015 , for which they were harshly referred to as ‘Back Up Dancers’. The Wicked Skeng Man, finally breaks his silence and tells those throwing sly shots at him to ‘Shut Up’.
The video for ‘Shut Up’, was uploaded to YouTube on May, 17, 2015, on Stormyz‘s own channel, has accumulated over a million views, in 18 days, with an average of 63,936 views per day (1,150, 837 /18).
Following his success in 2014, Stormzy released his most recent single ‘Know Me From’ on March 8, narrowly missing out on a Top 40 hit, entering the UK Official Single Chart at No. 49. Currently he is performing around the UK, and has announced dates for his mini-tour in October (view dates here).
