JME (@JMEBBK) -‘Integrity>’ Goes To No #12 The Official UK Albums Chart.
North London grime MC/Producer, JME released his highly-anticipated album, ‘Integrity>‘ last week Monday (May 4), which just happened to be his Birthday.
In March, the Boy Better Know, CEO announced the release date for his third album, and dropped three videos on the same day; ‘Integrity’, ‘Taking Over? (It Ain’t Working)’, and ‘Work’. The album became available for pre-order shortly after, and immediately made an impression on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart going to No. #26.
The sixteen-track album is comprised of raw grime production from the likes of; JME himself, Mystery, Preditah, Deeco, Swifta Beater, Teeza, Rude Kid, Joker, and Tommy Kruise, and features guest appearances from Skepta, Shorty, Big Narstie, Giggs, Jammer, and D Double E.
The promotion leading up to the album release was pretty lowkey, with Jme treating his fans to the, ‘Integrity documentary’, and sharing his thoughts on a range of issues when he sat down with ChuckieOnline for an in-depth two part interview #RealtalkWithChuckieOnline .
To coincide with the release of ‘Integrity>’, Jme dropped his fourth track/video from the album, ‘Man Don’t Care Ft. Giggs’, followed by a meet and greet at Banquet Records in Kingston, where he signed merchandise, posed for photos with fans, and did a special performance,
It is well known that Jme and Boy Better Know camp have a very strong following, and most were hoping for a top 40 chart position for ‘Integrity>’, so were pleasantly surprised when the mid week chart was published, which revealed that it had gone to No. #11
While the mid week chart position gave people a reason to believe a top 20 was on the cards, it’s often the case that in the last couple of days of the chart week things can drastically change. Luckily, ‘Integrity>’ only slipped one place on the chart with confirmation on Sunday that it had entered the UK official Album Chart at No. #12.
Congratulations to Jme and the Boy Better Know camp. This is a massive achievement for an independent artist, and will no doubt provide great inspiration for up and coming Grime artist.
