Hijack (@kamanchisly)  – ‘The Badman Is Robbin’ [1989]

Old Skool Feature of the day for Saturday, January 10,  is a Hijack’s  track  ‘The Badman is Robbin‘ .  Hijack were a UK Hip-Hop group from Brixton, south London which consisted; Kamanchi Sly, DJ Supreme, DJ Undercover, Ulysses, Agent Fritz, Agent Clueso.

Released in 1989 on Rhyme Sydicate ,  ”The Badman is Robbin‘ was their first single taken from their debut album, ‘The Horns of Jericho’,  which went to  No. #56 in the UK Singles Chart.

The Rhyme Syndicate  label was set up by legendary gangsta-rapper, Ice -T who  became familiar with  Hijack due to their popularity in Europe,  and signed them to his label,  releasing the album ‘The Horns of Jericho’ in 1991.

Hijack were definitely pioneers in the UK hip-hop scene ,are possibly the first UK hip-hop to sign to a established US hip-Hop‘s stars label in America. Hijack We salute you!
