Jamal Edwards, founder of youth broadcasting platform, SBTV has received an MBE for his services to music.
The 24-year-old’s story began when he received a digital video camera for Christmas and started to film his friends rapping in his local area, then uploading the videos to Youtube.
Launched in November 2006, with the first video being uploaded to the SBTV YouTube account in February 2007, SBTV has grown from a bedroom operation focusing primarily on Grime & UK Hip-Hop to a multi-million pound lifestyle company, covering alternative and acoustic music, gaming, and sports with 505,080 subscribers, and 263,838,361 views (December 31, 2014).
The success of SBTV has turned Jamal Edwards in to a millionaire with an estimate wealth of Eight million pounds.
