Jonzi D (@JonziD) Pro:File – BCTV (@BConvention) exclusive interview with UK hip hop theatre pioneer [Black Dance Archives]

Jonzi D Pro:File interview by Denisha Anderson exclusively for BCTV – find out the history behind the Aeroplane Man, founder of Apricot Jam, creator of Lyrikal Fearta and of course artistic director of Breakin’ Convention!

Breakin’ Convention, in partnership with the Black Dance Archives Project and State of Emergency, present a Hip Hop Retrospective: an event showcasing four London dancers who were central to the early stages of Hip Hop dance development in the UK, through film, performance and conversation.

Using archival footage, images and documents, each short film will explore the dancers’ experiences, inspirations and legacies. These will be followed by a live performance and/or conversation with the dancers. A unique opportunity to gain an insight into these often untold stories about UK dance history.
