Sony to release Blak Twang’s ‘Dettwork SouthEast’ Album

After almost twenty years, UK rap veteran, Blak Twang, will see his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Dettwork SouthEast’ finally get its release on September 22 on Sony Music.
In 1996, Promo tapes for the album were sent out to the media by the now defunct Sound of Money label. The journalist and DJs who had received a copy were singing its praise, throwing around the word ‘classic’ in discussions amongst the UK hip-hop cognoscenti, leaving the public eagerly anticipating the release of ‘Dettwork SouthEast’, which never materialised. Hip-Hop Connection Magazine (also now defunct) put the Taipanic debut at No.#3 on its list of ‘The 50 best UK hip-hop albums ever’.
The original recording of ‘Dettwork SouthEast’ album included appearances from Roots Manuva, Fallacy, Seanie-T, and Drezzo from BloodHoundz. The forthcoming release will include the bonus track , ‘Dettworkwork Southeast Revisited (Dettwork Southeast Remix featuring Jehst, Rodney P and Black the Ripper‘, and is Produced by Harry Love.
Speaking on the release of ‘Dettwork Southeast‘ Blak Twang said:”
“For the ‘Dettwork SouthEast’ album to finally get a release now, as it deserved when it was first recorded in 1996, is quite incredible. The reason this has been possible is really due to the fans, who have been the never-ending fuel that have kept the fire blazing and the engines running. It was the genesis of my career and really defined what I’ve gone on to achieve since then, so for everyone to get behind this project and truly believe in it has been amazing!”
To celebrate the release of ‘Dettwork SouthEast’ there will be launch party at Jazz Cafe, Camden 22/09. Tickets here http://www.gigsandtours.com/event/blak-twang/jazz-cafe/805613 #ukclassic
