UK rapper Tinie Tempah has found himself at the top of the UK singles chart once again, almost four years after his his debut single, ‘Pass Out’, swept the nation.
The smartest-dressed man in British hip-hop and Grime can’t take sole credit for this latest achievement, as he is the featured artist on DVDBBS & Borgeous floorfiller ‘Tsunami (Jump)’.
Originally released without Tinie Tempah on it, Tsunami (Jump), became a major hit in several European countries. The track would’ve most likely been a hit in the UK without the inclusion of Tinie Tempah, but the decision to feature him on the UK release was a smart one that ensured the track its chart success. Tinie Tempah’s participation in the UK variant of ‘Tsunami (Jump)’ brings him his 19th chart hit, and his fourth number one with sales of 80,476 copies*.
Tsunami (Jump) had a lead of over 12,000 sales on the first of the midweek sales flashes but the dethroned My Love (Route 94 feat. Jess Glynne) closed the gap as the week progressed and ended up at number two on sales of 75,416 copies, little more than 5,000 in arrears*.
Tsunami (Jump) is one of four songs to debut inside the Top 10 this week. Leading the rest, I’m A Freak debuts at number four (33,982 sales)* for Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull, while Flo Rida’s How I Feel debuts at number eight (36,741 sales)* and Pixie Lott’s Nasty debuts at number nine (30,812 sales)*.
